Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-13
1. Acceptance
By using Orbit (heyorbit.io), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Orbit is operated by Andrew Oh as an independent personal project. Contact: oh.andrew2019@gmail.com.
2. What Orbit is
Orbit is a personal news dashboard that aggregates publicly available news articles from third-party publishers and presents them on an interactive globe. Orbit doesn’t produce or edit news content; we surface and link to it.
3. Accounts
You can use Orbit anonymously or sign in with an account managed by our auth provider, Clerk. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Orbit for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to disrupt the service, reverse-engineer our backend, scrape data at a rate that degrades service for others, or bypass rate limits.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
5. Content ownership
News articles, images, and excerpts surfaced on Orbit belong to their respective publishers. Orbit links to publishers’ original pages — you should read the linked article on the publisher’s site for full content. Republishing copyrighted excerpts from Orbit outside fair use isn’t permitted.
The Orbit interface, design, and original code are owned by Andrew Oh.
6. Service availability
Orbit is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis. We make no uptime guarantee and may change, pause, or discontinue the service at any time. Beta features may break.
7. Disclaimer
News surfaced on Orbit is selected algorithmically from public sources. We don’t verify the accuracy of third-party articles. Orbit is not a substitute for primary reporting, investment advice, medical advice, legal advice, or any decision-making tool. Use your judgment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orbit and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Total liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid to use Orbit in the prior twelve months (which, for current users, is zero).
9. Termination
You can stop using Orbit and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes for signed-in users will be surfaced in-app.
